Welcome to Pump Hill Barn

Pump Hill Barn is a delightful 19th Century holiday cottage in the heart of the village of Aberford, near Wetherby, Yorkshire. The stone built barn, which is next door to the owners' cottage, has been beautifully renovated, retaining the original arrow slit windows and oak beams. It is ideally located just off the A1 approximately halfway between Leeds (about 8 miles) and York (about 12 miles). It sleeps 4 people.

The Barn is close to the village green and the local pub which serves food and real ales.  There are two other pubs less than 10 mins drive away. Next door to the local pub, you will find The Village Coffee Shop which makes sandwiches to order and stock tasty treats such as cakes, pies and sausage rolls.  They also sell basic provisions such as bread and milk. For a longer shop, Tesco, Lidl and M&S are just a 10 mins drive away, with Sainsbury's and Morrisons a little further away.

For homewares and accessories, head to Aberford Interiors which is based in a Queen Anne house. They have a Neptune kitchens and home showroom and are stockists of paints including Farrow & Ball & Little Greene. You will also find a tearoom and a lovely garden where you can sit with a cup of tea and cake during fair weather.

The village also has a children's playground as well as the Jubilee Field. This is a free recreation area where you can play tennis (the court is three-quarter size), basketball, football, table tennis or have a go on the outdoor fitness equipment.

The excellent road network around Aberford allows easy access to York, Leeds and Harrogate. Whether you are interested in visiting historic houses, going to museums, horse trials or birdwatching, you will be spoilt for choice for things to do and see.  Lotherton Hall, Castle Howard, Harewood House, Bramham, Fountains Abbey, The National Railway Museum, St Aidan's Nature Reserves etc are all within easy driving distance. There are also plenty of footpaths in and around Aberford, making it popular with walkers.
